Thinking Outside the Box!

So while my grandson was visiting me, I had "Papa" bring out the Christmas decorations.   Caden is a  "hands-on" kiddo and the unopened  Christmas boxes needed to be emptied.  He was was more than eager to open those boxes!   Out came the collection of nutcrackers, the "fake" holly and greenery, then the snow globes.  While he played with the snow globes I began stacking the boxes.   Midway I had to pull away from finishing and walked into another room.  When I returned my grandson proudly said "Nana I finished!"   And to my amazement they were stacked!!

Maybe he will grow up to be an architect!





After decorating we took a night ride.

My grandboys spent  the night with us during a couple days off of school.  We had a fantastic time with them, we played games, we ate good and junk food (grandparent perks)  and they had a visit from their cousin. A Grandmother's Comfort Never Ends...

Sitting on the couch at my aunt's home she noticed I was holding a pillow on my lap.    I don't know why I hold a pillow perhaps it's a comfort thing.  It is not necessary that I hold a pillow on my lap when I sit on a couch but if there are "throw pillows"  I naturally pick one to hold.   My aunt said that the pillow I was holding was embroidered by my grandmother!  Isn't it lovely!   Like many grandmothers of her time, they enjoyed making beautiful handiwork like embroidery, crochet, knitting and sewing. I took after my grandmother in many ways; I too enjoy creating beautiful artwork through knitting, embroidery, and sewing.   One day I will be gone and hopefully my grandchildren too will be comforted by the handiwork I left behind...for them...

Easter Day and Silly Wabbits

Easter Day at my home was filled with lots of family, children, and fun.   Staying with tradition,  the night before Papa and I boiled the eggs, colored and created these little "dudes and dudettes"  for the "hunt."   As you can see from the looks of them... these egg-lettes  are ready to hide. Our party was going well until I discovered all my carrots had disappeared...I suspect one of these "Silly Wabbits" might have eaten them...?
