A Lovely Saturday...

These past few two weeks have been busy busy busy for this Nana.   My second semester classes have increased by three classes, another day of the week of teaching and a very large cast in my theater classes!
These statistics are welcomed indeed, this means this Nana teacher is consistently busy.  I was ready for a weekend rest.

The following photos restored my tired mind...and enriched my learning soul and I got to spend time with my grandboys!











When my grandsons asked to come stay at Nana and Papa's home this weekend it was a great excuse to play outside.  Our Saturday morning began with a visit to a used book store, where I purchased a lovely art book of  French Impressionist.  The other book I purchased is called Little Plays for Little Players.  I love reading plays!  Both books came to a grand total of $3.00!   Saturday morning was off to a great start.  We bought ice cream cones and headed to the park.  Across the street from the park is a museum and we felt the draw to visit.   For a  low price of $6 we toured the museum, participated in creating a fossil, experienced a dig for shark teeth and enjoyed a great snack break!

My grandboys spent  the night with us during a couple days off of school.  We had a fantastic time with them, we played games, we ate good and junk food (grandparent perks)  and they had a visit from their cousin. The cousins began their play by re-creating the dining and front room into a tent city.  I was given a VIP pass to take pictures of their planning. It is a happy talent to know how to play. A Grandmother's Comfort Never Ends...

Sitting on the couch at my aunt's home she noticed I was holding a pillow on my lap.    I don't know why I hold a pillow perhaps it's a comfort thing.  It is not necessary that I hold a pillow on my lap when I sit on a couch but if there are "throw pillows"  I naturally pick one to hold.   My aunt said that the pillow I was holding was embroidered by my grandmother!  Isn't it lovely!   Like many grandmothers of her time, they enjoyed making beautiful handiwork like embroidery, crochet, knitting and sewing. I took after my grandmother in many ways; I too enjoy creating beautiful artwork through knitting, embroidery, and sewing.   One day I will be gone and hopefully my grandchildren too will be comforted by the handiwork I left behind...for them...

Easter Day and Silly Wabbits

Easter Day at my home was filled with lots of family, children, and fun.   Staying with tradition,  the night before Papa and I boiled the eggs, colored and created these little "dudes and dudettes"  for the "hunt."   As you can see from the looks of them... these egg-lettes  are ready to hide. Our party was going well until I discovered all my carrots had disappeared...I suspect one of these "Silly Wabbits" might have eaten them...?
