Taste Testers


Taste Tester No.#1 
  It has been a very long time since I baked cookies, cakes,  made bread, or cupcakes.   Sadly I am not a fan of baking, so with the help of Betty Crocker and eager taste testers I set myself to the task of making cup cakes for my dad's birthday.   Children are and can be brutally honest which is why I trust their opinions.  

Results...A chocolaty expression



Taste Tester No. #2
His method is to study the chocolaty spoon first then he proceeds to dip it into the bowl.  




Satisfied with their opinions I complete the task.  The taste testers left for home.  Mission accomplished.  


Just in time for the birthday boy to blow out  the candles.

I love making cupcakes instead of cakes for birthdays. If you mess up on one, you can hide (or eat!) that cupcake, and no one will be the wiser!

A Grandmother's Comfort Never Ends...

Sitting on the couch at my aunt's home she noticed I was holding a pillow on my lap.    I don't know why I hold a pillow perhaps it's a comfort thing.  It is not necessary that I hold a pillow on my lap when I sit on a couch but if there are "throw pillows"  I naturally pick one to hold.   My aunt said that the pillow I was holding was embroidered by my grandmother!  Isn't it lovely!   Like many grandmothers of her time, they enjoyed making beautiful handiwork like embroidery, crochet, knitting and sewing. I took after my grandmother in many ways; I too enjoy creating beautiful artwork through knitting, embroidery, and sewing.   One day I will be gone and hopefully my grandchildren too will be comforted by the handiwork I left behind...for them...

Easter Day and Silly Wabbits

Easter Day at my home was filled with lots of family, children, and fun.   Staying with tradition,  the night before Papa and I boiled the eggs, colored and created these little "dudes and dudettes"  for the "hunt."   As you can see from the looks of them... these egg-lettes  are ready to hide. Our party was going well until I discovered all my carrots had disappeared...I suspect one of these "Silly Wabbits" might have eaten them...?
